Comments:   GRANDIQUE FERRY THE REAL NAME OF LOUISDALE.

   1. They claim Louisdale was uninhabited in 1850. Check out L'Ardoise Parish History and you will find out that they wanted a cleric for the Grand Digue Ferry area in 1820.

   2. The Harbour was originally called the Grandique
Ferry. You can check out many sources. Just google the following:
     1. The Willd Briar 1891.
     2. The Richmond 1885.
     3. The Bosdet "Seaview Hotel."

  3. The first post office was in Grandique Ferry in 1893.
Google "History of Nova Scotia Jan 1880 to Dec 1889."
Go down to October 1888. The contract is from Grand Anse to Grandique Ferry.

  4. The first six settlers were NOT in Louisdale in 1861. Check out Ed Galvin's D'Escousse site. Check out the census. Go to the 1861 Census and you won't see them there.
The D'Escousse census included Louisdale. It is apart of 320.

  5. Grandique Ferry had a church in the 1880's. Go to Ed Galvin's site and click marriages. Look at the one on Oct 1869 and one on Sept 7,1886.
Then click down to Feb 14 1887. Thomas Duon got married. He was from Acadaville. He is in the D'Escousse
polling station. Louisdale was called Acadaville. However, it was an Avenue of Grandique Ferry. This why there was a
Grandique Ferry Road and a Ferry road.
  6. Louisdale changed its name in 1905. Google --
Louisdale pronounced Lewisdale. It will say that the earliest records show that it was called Le Barachois or Barachois St. Louis. Where is Seal Cove? More important it was not changed from Grandique Ferry.

 7. If you don't believe this google -- Grandique Ferry-
Isle Madame. Click the content view item collection.
It is a picture taken in 1903. It was around Lennox passage. It was about the coastal areas. WHERE IS GRANDIQUE FERRY? It is LOUISDALE.

Benny Marchand and the plunders from Barachoie took over the place. They wanted to get rid of the Indians living up in Seal Cove.Put in Google Louisdale provincial park. They made it a park because it became crown land. This ran out so in 1953 they formed a blueberry common. Google Blueberry Assocation louisdale Nova Scotia. They made that crown land. It was the only one in Cape Breton. A blueberry assocation with no blueberries.
The Mooseheads or ugly heads were from Barachois near Petit de Grat. The indians called them this, so they change the name so they wouldn't call them this name.  It didn't work.
THE TRUTH IS THAT GRANDIQUE FERRY IS LOUISDALE AND IT STILL IS.

My name is Earl Samson. I live on Lower Sackville just outside of Halifax. My parents moved to Halifax in 1960. My Father ( Peter) ran a store in Little Anse. Would like to hear from some of my classmates who attended school in Little Anse ( teachers Carl and Violet Boudreau). I also attended school in a house next to Junior Samson  in Little Anse. Remember some of the ballgames on the hill next to the school? Isle Madame. Interested in anyone who lived Little Anse or Samson Cove.

Comments: THE MYSTIC PLACE OF LOUISDALE NOVA SCOTIA CANADA HAS MORE THAN 200 UNEXPLAINED MYSTERIES:

UNEXPLAINED MYSTERIOUS OF OAK ISLAND SOLVED THANKS TO THE LOUISDALE CODE.

We all heard of the Da Vinci Code.  However, the Louisdale Code is true. What is the Louisdale Code? The Louisdale Code is all the names of the place signs. You put 5, 6, 7, or 8 place names together and you get something about Louisdale's past or future or other events in the world.
Like benny Marchand's Phony history of Louisdale. It was and still is Grandique Ferry.
When I was told this, I thought this was bunk. However, after looking at many things, it is unexplained how it tells the past and future events.
There are many codes about Oak Island.
THERE ARE 8 CODES THAT WERE BROKE THAT WE BELIEVE  IS A 100% GUARANTEE THAT THERE IS TREASURE AND WHO PUT THE TREASURE THERE AND WHY THEY DID IT.
WHEN YOU READ ALL 8 CODES, YOU WILL KNOW THAT THE LOUISDALE CODE WAS RIGHT ABOUT OAK ISLAND.

Here is an example of one:

     (All palce names in Louisdale)

      BURT AVENUE
      SILVER OAK DRIVE
      ISLAND VIEW
      GRANDIQUE FERRY ROAD
      HARBOURVIEW CRESCENT
      BENNIES LANE
      LOUISDALE.
      LANDRY LANE

The Ship that was the Avenue (BURT AVENUE) for the drive for   Silver at Oak Island (SILVER OAK DRIVE -- ISLAND VIEW) and had a view to ditched what they were conveying. (GRANDIQUE also means "Big Ditch'. FERRY-from convey). They had a sheltered view and were going to back Spain, then they were going to come back for the treasure (HARBOURVIEW CRESCENT). But the ship went down (BENNIES is Downers). This was only ship like this(LANE means one or alone) that hide their treasure
(LOUISDALE-- Louis-- A french coin   DALE--Dale-- is a Valley or the last name Dale means the following:
Irish: possibly in some cases of English origin, but otherwise an Anglicized form of Gaelic Dall, a byname meaning ‘blind’. The reason is they always took it back to the home rulers.) They'd always take their treasure back to Spain, because it was to sustain the economy.

Comments: My great grandmother was a Kavanagh of Grandique Ferry. My great great great grandfather, Daniel Kavanagh Sr had two land grants at what is now Louisdale, right along the river and extending to Lennox Passage.  he then purchased land at what was to become Grandique Ferry and he was the originator of the Ferry to Ile Madame. I have visited there during my genealogical research and Grandique, and Lennox Passage are just beautiful, as is Ile madame and the entire area. We met many friendly people there and do hope to make a return trip there someday.

Comments: This is a great website. I am from Louisdale and have lots of friends and relatives on Isle Madame. I have not been to Little Anse and Samsons Cove in years but I have had many visits there to visit Minnie & Charlie Samson and also Andrew & Vivian Samson. Also Alma & Lawrence Samson too. I know that Lawrence is passed away but I still have fond memories of our visits there. Also I have a cousin Barbara who is a deaf mute and she is married to Paul Forgeron(I hope that is his last name). I believe he is a teacher teaching carpentry. I remember they built a miniature replica of the home they would be building which was just beautiful. Those are just a few of the beautiful memories. Also I used to go to Pondville all the time and stayed with Diane Briand and her family. Special times in Isle Madame. Please keep up the good work.

Comments: Hello:
I just found this site; I hope I can get more information or pictures relating the Grandique Ferry.
My wife died in 2006, and her mother was Mary Kavanagh from the Ferry; her father ran the Grandique Ferry and at one time had the contract to deliver mail to Isle Madame (at least to D'escousse).
I had been interested in the Ferry and the adjacent island from the stories Mary told us of their lives around the 1900's.   I took a short trip up to the area in September, but other than viewing the sites didn't gain much information.
I have my own (Lagasse) family history, but find nothing of the Kavanaghs earlier than Daniel (father of James b. 1857 and Catherine b. 1862)
 Any help would be appreciated
