To say that it was an absolutely fantastic trip would be an understatement. Isle Madame is filled with million dollar views, I can now understand why Uncle Tony Harding took every opportunity to take that LONG trip from Massachusetts. The residents were so very friendly and helpful. The accomodations at L'Auberge Acadienne were terrific. The "meat pie" just like my grandmother made brought back a flood of memories. Naomi and Willard Fougere are the perfect hosts right down to the offer of tea at the kitchen table. The icing on the cake however was meeting my father's first cousin, Marie Kehoe. Marie's first words to me were about my grandmother: "Aunt Ina was my favorite". Marie can't realize how happy that made me. Thank you all for a wonderful visit. From: Bridge1net@aol.com Subject: Greetings from Ontario To: webmaster@yarmouth.org I am sitting in a cafe in Toronto looking at your great pictures of Arichat - home of my late grandfather - and his father and grandfather. Great site and sight!! I hope to be up that way soon with my family on holidays and look forward to showing my kids around. I always welcome information on Ile Madame and think the website is a nice idea for a community. By the way, my grandfather was Captain Edward Alfred Le Blanc, who was born in Arichat - or West Arichat in the late 1800's. His mother Arthemise is buried in the cemetary there. I met her sister Sophie back in the 70's when travelling in the area with my own parents. At that time there was still a Le Blanc general store that I enjoyed visiting. On my last trip a few years ago, I got lots of assistance from some kind women who helped me trace some of my ancestors. It is nice to have roots on Isle Madame! Regards,

your beautiful Isle Madame! I just returned from Isla Madame the
other day, and of course I signed the papers to make the purchase complete!
My 12 year old daughter marianna loves the island, and we cannot wait to
return in October. I am looking forward to meeting all of my neghbors
and hope we will become friends soon!
